DB Schenker Rail’s international trainee program enters the next round
First trainees successfully complete program • Increase in number of participants • Applications can still be submitted for 2013
The euroTRAIL international trainee program launched by DB Schenker Rail in 2011 is making good progress: the first 23 trainees from seven different countries will complete the 18-month course in April. In its second term the program already attracted 42 trainees from twelve different countries. Applications for the next course, which will begin in November 2013, can be submitted to www.deutschebahn.com/karriere until April 1.
“euroTRAIL is strengthening DB Schenker Rail’s international network and promoting intercultural cooperation at the company. It also provides an interesting career opportunity, as it is open to all keen employees, even if they do not have an academic background. 19 employees have made use of this option to date,” comments Rudolf Müller, DB Schenker Rail Management Board Member for Human Resources.
During the program, all trainees complete two internships at DB Schenker Rail international companies in different countries, each lasting several months. This prepares them for their subsequent position and gives them an overview of the company’s business activities throughout Europe. All trainees are given a permanent employment contract right from the start. Regular follow-up training sessions communicate theoretical knowledge of project management, intercultural skills and change management. Each trainee is also assigned to a tutor who provides professional support.
